  Purchased 700 sq ft of distressed flooring with a 50 year warranty a little over 6 years ago and the finish is wearing off. We had to go through HOBO the retailer to have a rep from LW Mountain Flooring to inspect the floor. From the moment he stepped foot in the home he was looking for any reason not to stand up to their products 50 year warranty. He was measuring the spacing and looking to see if it was nailed down correctly.... none of which have anything to do with the finish wearing off in a bunch of locations that he could care less about. He claims the floor is abused and a large dog must live in the home. Not true....normal people with a two pound dog live in the residence. The rep from LW Mountain became very condescending when asked why the finish is wearing off a product that has a 50 year warranty...he had no answers except that the floor was shinny as though is was cleaned or sealed with some product. Shame on LW Mountain for not standing up to their product and HOBO for selling it. Several floor installing and refinishing companies said the finish is wearing off due to a manufacturing issues when the sealer is applied to the wood. Estimates to refinish the floor range from $2700 to $3400 Don't be fooled by the warranty..it means nothing. Buy a product from a company that stands up for their product .
